For all the wedding work, Matthew May Photography was a two person team of Matt May and Suzanne Ricca. Starting in 2006 as a side passion, their eye for art, design, professionalism and quality quickly put them in demand in the wedding industry. So much so that in 2008, both Matt and Suzanne left their “day jobs” to devote themselves to photography full time.

Although Matt and Suzanne shot all over the San Francisco Bay Area, they were known for specializing in international destination weddings. As such, MMP was hired all over the world, shooting in such diverse places as Europe, Mexico, China, The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Aruba, and of course, all across the United States.

MMP continued to gain recognition, and soon their work was being shown at premiere wedding venues, published in photography magazines (Popular Photography, Photo District News, Marin Magazine) and featured on wedding websites such as Style Me Pretty, Wedding Wire and The Knot. MMP won multiple industry awards, including the “Best of Weddings” award consecutively for multiple years. With this, MMP also caught the attention of the corporate world and was hired to photograph corporate functions for Silicon Valley’s top tech companies. Further, Matt and Suzanne also served as the original members SanDisk’s Extreme Team, advising for product development, giving talks about the industry, and teaching seminars on photography.

During the time that Matt and Suzanne dedicated to photography, they not only met but far exceeded all of the goals they had set for themselves. They photographed their last wedding in late 2012, and are now focused on other interests.
